LOSER
so anyway why are you leavin monday?Ya im glad im gettin along with her too cause she is pretty cool, well as far as I know so far anyway, and ......she is hot
lol see I told ya im not really gay
In the end
we know not why
our friends are friends
the skys the sky
its truth we want
but acceptance we need
knowledge gained
is only a seed
without acceptance
it cannot bloom
cannot help
cannot loom
we have to know
that it is true
and ask not why
I'm me, your you
some things
are meant to stay unknown
I say we leave
our frets at home
make the most
of our lives
have fun with it
and in that lies
THE MEANING
OF LIFE
happy times

Its been awhile
since I had the chance
Its been awhile
I think as I dance
Its been awhile
im nearly in a trance
Its been awhile
since I took this stance
I am happy
found in the oddest places
I am happy
a wonderful stasis
I am happy
for many cases
I am happy
when I see your faces
because you are the best of friends
and ill be with you till this world ends

I wrote this poem
it kicked some ass
I was impressed
with my hint of class
It rivaled all
poems of the past
a stupendouse work
this worlds last
but in the end
my inperfect soul
made a large folley
and deleted it whole
what idiocy left
can there be for me
after ruining the worlds
last great decree
for this I leave
to become a hermit
if your lookin for me
my new names Kermit
ive been acused of being lame
of being dumb, and far past insane
Ive been acused of being fake
of wanting only for my sake
Ive been accused of many things
but never once of something that brings
guilt to my heart, or shame to my name
because I am me, and since you came
you must not think me that insane
for in some instances, crazy or sane
a person is good at heart
and for that deserves your part
in helping out and being a friend
and letting them know its not the end
Im always there for you
for once, please be there for me too
HAHA
On the surface Nick is camping and fishing. But he is running from his problems. He is getting away and taking life slow. It’s a nice change for him and he enjoys himself when these problems present themselves again (the swamp) he avoids them and postpones the inevitable, for better, or worse.
1. What else do you think Hemmingway may be saying through the setting in this story? He is showing the carefree attitude that Nick had taken toward life.
2. Why does he use the contrasting setting of the burned out area with the lush, green setting?
He shows how much better off Nick is in this new (state of mind) place.
3. What does Nick's traveling through the burned out area to the lush green area symbolize?
His movement from the burned landscape symbolizes him leaving his problems behind. When a farmer wants to clear an area of weeds, so that he can plant something, he will burn the land. The burning fertilizes the soil and gets rid of the bothersome weeds. Thus allowing the plants he puts there to grow. Nick has burned away the weeds, and planted sturdier surroundings.
4. What does the swamp area symbolize?
The swamp symbolizes the new problems arising in his life. Nobody can live without problems.
5. When does Nick, if ever, plan to go to the swamp?
Later after he has had his fill of the easy life, secluded from the world and reality.
