In "The End of Something" the story is about a couple. they start out in a row boat on the river and then get out on the beach. They are having problems and end up breaking up.
In "The Three Day Blow" Nick and Ben are out in Ben's father's hunting lodge. They drink and talk about many things. The story shows the feelings and emotons running through Nick as he contemplates the decision he just made. He figures that maybe he made a mistake and decides to go to town the next day and try to patch things up.
Hemingway has a very forward way of writing and yet keeps much hidden within his words. He is very big on scene description, using it to show the mood of the scenario and to symbolize character feelings that are not openly apparent. His writing style to me is very boring, he has too much descrioption of scenery and doesnt leave much room for the imagination.
